FAQ & Troubleshooting
Common questions, data freshness, exchange sync issues, and getting help.
Data and Freshness
How fresh is the market data on Thrive?
Market data (prices, funding rates, open interest, volume) is updated every 5 minutes via aggregated exchange feeds. The market ticker at the top of the dashboard uses WebSocket connections for sub-second price updates. Derivatives data from CoinGlass is refreshed on a 5-minute cycle. On-chain data from Nansen updates every 10-15 minutes depending on the blockchain.
How often does my exchange data sync?
Trade history syncs every 15 minutes. Balance and position data syncs every 60 minutes. You can trigger a manual sync at any time from Settings → Connections. The initial sync on a new connection imports up to 12 months of trade history.
Why does some data appear delayed?
Data freshness depends on the upstream source. CoinGlass derivatives data updates every 5 minutes. CoinMarketCap category and listing data updates every 15 minutes. Nansen on-chain data updates every 10-15 minutes based on block confirmation times. Social sentiment aggregation runs on a 10-minute cycle. If data appears stale beyond these intervals, try refreshing the page or check the Data Freshness widget in the Workbench.
Signals and Divergences
Why do I sometimes see conflicting signals on the same asset?
Conflicting signals occur when different data dimensions point in different directions. For example, a momentum signal might be bullish (price trending up with volume) while a divergence signal is bearish (funding rate overextended relative to price). This is not a system error; it reflects genuine market complexity. Use the confidence scores and signal types to weigh them. Higher-confidence signals with more contributing data sources are generally more reliable.
How do divergences resolve?
A divergence resolves when the disagreement between price and the indicator closes. This can happen in two ways: price reverses in the direction predicted by the divergence (resolved correctly), or the indicator catches up to price direction (invalidated). Thrive tracks both outcomes and reports resolution statistics on the Divergences page. Historically, severe divergences resolve correctly more than 70% of the time, but timing is imprecise and can range from hours to weeks.
What is the historical accuracy of AI signals?
Signal accuracy varies by type and confidence tier. High-confidence signals (80+) have historically been directionally accurate roughly 65-75% of the time. Medium-confidence signals (60-79) are accurate approximately 55-65% of the time. These statistics are available on the Signals page performance dashboard and are updated in real time as signals resolve. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Are trading signals financial advice?
No. Trading signals are quantitative model outputs, not investment recommendations. They represent the model's directional assessment based on historical patterns and current data. You should always apply your own analysis, risk management framework, and position sizing discipline before acting on any signal.
Exchange Connections
Which exchanges does Thrive support?
Thrive supports Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, Coinbase, Kraken, KuCoin, MEXC, and Gate.io. Each integration covers spot balances, futures positions, and trade history. New exchanges are added based on user demand. If your exchange is not listed, contact support or use the CSV import feature for manual trade data upload.
Is my API key safe?
API secrets are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. They are transmitted over TLS 1.3 and never displayed in the UI after initial entry. Thrive only accepts read-only API keys and validates that the key does not have write permissions on connection. You can disconnect at any time, which immediately deletes the stored credentials.
Why are some of my trades missing after sync?
The most common cause is insufficient API permissions. Some exchanges require separate read permissions for spot, futures, and margin accounts. Verify that your API key has read access to all account types you use. Additionally, the initial sync imports up to 12 months of history. Older trades require CSV import. If trades are still missing after verifying permissions, try disconnecting and reconnecting the exchange.
Credits and Billing
What happens when I run out of credits?
When your monthly credits are exhausted, the system draws from your purchased credit balance (if any). If both are depleted, actions that consume credits are blocked until your monthly allocation resets (first of each month at 00:00 UTC) or you purchase a credit pack. Free features like dashboard navigation, watchlist management, and journal browsing remain accessible.
Do unused monthly credits roll over?
No. Monthly credits reset to your full allocation on the first of each month. Unused credits are lost. Purchased credit packs, however, never expire and carry forward indefinitely until used.
Can I get a refund on purchased credit packs?
Credit pack purchases are non-refundable once credits have been added to your account. If you purchased a pack by mistake and have not used any of the credits, contact support within 24 hours for assistance.
When do plan changes take effect?
Upgrades take effect immediately. Your credit allocation increases to the new plan level, and the billing difference is prorated for the current cycle. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period. You retain your current plan features until then.
What happens when I cancel my subscription?
You retain access to all features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier with 50 credits per month. No data is deleted. Your journal entries, dashboards, alerts, and settings are preserved. If you resubscribe later, everything is restored.
Privacy and Security
What data does Thrive collect about me?
Thrive collects your account profile (name, email), usage analytics (pages viewed, features used, session duration), and any data you explicitly input (journal entries, watchlists, alert configurations). If you connect an exchange, Thrive stores your trade history and balance snapshots. API keys are encrypted at rest. Thrive does not sell your data to third parties.
Can Thrive execute trades on my behalf?
No. Thrive is a read-only platform. It cannot and will not execute trades, place orders, modify positions, or initiate withdrawals on any connected exchange. The platform exclusively uses read-only API permissions for data import.
Platform and Browser Support
Which browsers are supported?
Thrive is tested and fully supported on the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge. Chrome is recommended for the best performance and PWA installation experience. Older browsers and Internet Explorer are not supported.
Does Thrive work on mobile?
Yes. Thrive is a responsive Progressive Web App (PWA) that works in mobile browsers and can be installed to your home screen for a native-like experience. The mobile layout features a bottom navigation bar and optimized touch interactions. The full desktop experience, including the Workbench, is available but best used on screens 1024px wide or larger.
Does Thrive work offline?
The PWA caches recently viewed pages and data for limited offline access. You can browse previously loaded journal entries, dashboards, and settings without a connection. Live features (signals, divergences, market data, alerts) require an active internet connection. The app reconnects automatically when connectivity is restored.
